A-Math Tuition for Sec 3 & Sec 4
Small groups of six for Additional Mathematics, where strong algebra and multi-step reasoning make the difference.
A different kind of Math
A-Math asks students to manipulate algebra fluently, link ideas across topics and work through long problems without a template. Many strong E-Math students find this frustrating at first. Targeted practice closes the gap.
A-Math under the new SEC
From 2027, A-Math is examined at G3 under the Singapore-Cambridge Secondary Education Certificate (SEC), the same standard as the O-Level paper it replaces. Still deciding whether your child should take it? Our guide to E-Maths vs A-Maths covers the trade-offs.
What We Cover in A-Math
Algebra
- Surds
- Polynomials and partial fractions
- Exponentials and logarithms
- Binomial theorem
Geometry & Trigonometry
- Coordinate geometry, including circles
- Further trigonometry: identities and equations
- Proofs in plane geometry
Calculus
- Differentiation and integration
- Tangents, normals and rates of change
- Kinematics: displacement, velocity and acceleration
Exam Skills
- Planning multi-step questions before writing
- Algebraic accuracy under time pressure
- Exam-style practice across mixed topics
How Our A-Math Classes Work
Algebra fluency first
Almost every A-Math topic depends on fast, accurate algebra. We strengthen it early, because it is where most lost marks start.
Thinking through long problems
Students learn to plan a solution and link topics together, so unfamiliar questions feel approachable rather than impossible.
Attention in a small group
The teacher can follow each line of working and catch a misunderstanding before it becomes a habit.

Common Questions
Should my child take A-Math?
A-Math matters most for students heading towards engineering, the sciences, economics or other STEM courses, where it is often required or a strong advantage. It needs solid algebra, so a student who was borderline in Sec 1 and Sec 2 Math should weigh the extra load carefully.
Does my child still need E-Math if they take A-Math?
Yes. E-Math is compulsory, and A-Math is taken in addition to it. We run separate E-Math and A-Math classes, so students can join one or both.
Is the first class free?
Yes. Book a free trial class and we will suggest the Sec 3 or Sec 4 class that best suits your child’s level and schedule.
